How to Make Red Cabbage Slaw

1. Combine Ingredients

Place the finely chopped red cabbage into a large bowl and season with salt and sugar. Add the julienned green and red bell peppers, along with the grated carrots. Drizzle the vinegar over the top and stir everything together gently but thoroughly, ensuring that the salt, sugar, and vinegar are evenly distributed throughout the vegetables.

2. Let the Slaw Rest

Allow the slaw to rest for at least 30 minutes. The salt and sugar will draw out moisture, softening the vegetables and allowing the flavors to blend. The slaw will appear slightly wilted and glossy when it is ready.

3. Final Stir and Serve

After the resting period, give the slaw a final stir to ensure everything is well mixed. The slaw is now ready to serve with its crisp texture and tangy flavor.
