How to Make Oven-Baked Crispy Bacon & Sunny-Side Up Eggs

1. Preheat and Prep

Begin by removing the eggs from the fridge to bring them to room temperature. Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit, positioning a rack in the center.

2. Bacon Roasting

On a rimmed baking sheet, lay out the bacon slices in a single layer with even spacing. Place in the center of the oven to roast until the bacon starts to curl and the fat renders, about 8 minutes. Adjust the timing if using very thin or thick-cut slices.

3. Egg Addition

Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Quickly flip the bacon slices and shift them to one side of the sheet. On the other side, gently crack the eggs onto the sheet. Return to the oven and roast until egg whites set but yolks remain runny, and bacon is crisp, approximately 2 to 5 minutes more. For firmer yolks or crispier bacon, extend the cooking time, being cautious not to burn the bacon.

4. Plating

With a spatula, carefully separate the eggs. Promptly transfer them onto plates to prevent further cooking of the yolks. Season with salt and pepper. Drain bacon on paper towels before adding to the plates alongside toast, and serve immediately.
