Green Beans, ends trimmed

tablespoons
tablespoons
Garlic, thinly sliced
cloves
Flat Leaf Parsley, chopped
tablespoons
Lemon, halved to juice
each
1. Prep
Begin by preparing your ingredients. Wash the green beans and trim off the ends. Thinly slice the garlic cloves. Chop the parsley and set it aside. Measure out your sliced almonds and have your lemon ready for juicing.
2. Sauté
Heat a large sauté pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the butter and allow it to melt completely. As soon as the butter begins to foam, add the green beans with a pinch of salt. Toss the beans in the butter to coat them evenly and sauté for 2-3 minutes, keeping the green beans crisp and bright.
3. Add Aromatics
After the green beans have had a chance to sauté, sprinkle in the sliced almonds. Stir the mixture and allow the almonds to toast slightly, taking care not to let them burn. After about a minute, introduce the sliced garlic to the pan. You're looking to lightly toast the almonds and cook the garlic by the time that the green beans are just cooked but still toothsome.
4. Finishing Ingredients
Once the green beans are tender yet still firm, the nuts are toasted, and the garlic has softened without turning brown, remove the pan from heat. Squeeze the fresh lemon juice over the beans and almonds, and sprinkle the chopped parsley over the top and toss to combine. Serve straight away.
