How to Make Lone Star Zesty Barbecue Dip

    1. Melt Butter

Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat, which should take about 2 to 3 minutes.

    2. Cook Onion

Once the butter is melted, add the finely chopped onion and cook until it softens, stirring occasionally for about 2 to 3 minutes.

    3. Add Chili Powder and Garlic

Stir in the chili powder and minced garlic, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

    4. Add Remaining Ingredients

Add the tomato juice, 0.5 cup of the vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, molasses, minced chipotle chile in adobo sauce, and the mustard mixture. Also, add 0.5 teaspoon of salt and 0.25 teaspoon of pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 30 to 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    5. Adjust Vinegar and Seasoning

After the sauce has thickened, remove it from the heat and stir in the remaining 0.25 cup of vinegar. Adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

    6. Cool and Serve

Let the dip cool to room temperature before serving.
